Welcome to Rose Hack 2023!

Rose Hack 2024 is UCR's women-centric hackathon where students from all backgrounds are celebrated. Hundreds of participants form teams and build a project over the event's 24 hour duration. 

Rose Hack is beginner friendly and welcomes all participants to learn, develop, and hone their skills. Have you ever wanted to learn how to build something, but didn't know where to start? We will provide everything you need from swag, mentoring, and a diverse range of workshops to help you level up your hacking experience.

Requirements

Please submit the following

  • A description of your project, what it does, and if it solves any problem.
  • Don't forget to submit your Github/Figma Link and Devpost Link to the hacker portal. If you do not submit a Github/Figma AND Devpost link to the hacker portal, we will not be able to consider your team for judging. 
  • Please check your hacker portal during judging to attend your assigned demo table.

Judging Criteria

  • Beginner
    For your hack to qualify as a Beginner Hack, Rose Hack must be the first hackathon a majority of your team has attended.
  • Social Impact
    This project must focus on improving the world by addressing social issues and promoting positive change.
  • Women Centric
    Your project must empower, celebrate, and/or support women in some shape or form.
  • UI/UX
    The project has a clean and easy-to-use interface built with a user in mind. Bonus points for techno/futuristic design.
  • Hardware
    This project involves the best incorporation of hardware that meshes well with software.
  • Data
    This project involves the best use of data analysis and modeling practices. This includeds creating dashboards, classification, insights, etc.
